There is also some material related to Homer Laughlin, Jr., Homer Laughlin, III, and businessman Beach D. Lyon. There are a few items that were used for advertising the Grand Central Market.

Visual Materials
An album of 28 photographs of a well-off Los Angeles family and their expansive, richly appointed home directly across the street from Westlake Park (now MacArthur Park) in Los Angeles. The photographs were likely taken shortly before American businessman Homer Laughlin bought the home, as a handwritten caption notes it was sold to Laughlin of "East Liverpool, Ohio." Images include photographs of the exterior and various interior rooms, showing furniture, a grand piano, several angles of the parlor, the dining hall, "Papa's Room," and the children's room. Other photographs depict the lush garden around the home, often including children Marion and Elizabeth playing or picking "California wildflowers" with their grandmother Louisa and other family members, including one of "Papa" labeled with the initials "E. G. J." The family home's address is given as 9th Westlake Avenue, possibly what is current day Alvarado Street. Other photographs include women in fancy Victorian dress, images of Westlake Park, the bells of San Gabriel Mission, and a group photograph of "the Dane family, Pasadena." This is most likely Ezra Dane (1828-1921) and family at their "Sunny Ridge" residence.

The Business records series includes financial documents and records from more than 30 of Henry E. Huntington's businesses and encompass all of his business interests (the material also contains some personal financial documents). The companies included in the series are (list is not exhaustive): Central Pacific Railroad, Dolgeville Land Co., Huntington Land and Improvement Co., Huntington-Redondo Co., Kentucky Central Railroad, Los Angeles Land Co., Los Angeles Railway Co., Naples Co., Naples Extension Co., Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co. and other Newport Beach companies, Pacific Electric Railway Co., Pacific Light and Power Co., Redondo Beach Co., Riverside Improvement Co., Riverside Railway Co., San Gabriel River Improvement Co., San Gabriel Wine Co., San Marino Growers' Packing Association, San Marino Land Co., San Marino Packing House, Huntington's San Marino ranch, Southern Pacific Co., and Huntington's other railroad interests, Standard Felt Co., and Temple Street Cable Railway Co. The material consists of financial records, time books, stock records, cash books, receipt books, meeting minutes, legal documents and loans, reports, field books, tract maps, blueprints, deeds, journals, ledgers, real estate information, tax information, correspondence and telegrams, loan information, by-laws and other incorporating documentation, and sales and shipping records. Some of the records document the various crops being grown on Huntington properites and contain information about fruit and crop totals and sales. Several of Huntington's business partners, such as George S. Patton, can be found among the documents. ------Also card index to field books. Field Books missing: volumes 31, 118, 191, 263.

Homer D. Crotty Papers and Addenda

The Homer D. Crotty papers and addenda are one unified collection of papers with two separate organizational schemes. The Homer D. Crotty papers were organized in accordance to the original order as received by The Huntington Library and without any series designations. The papers consists primarily of Homer D. Crotty's business and organization papers, including agreements, bylaws, clippings, correspondence, financial records, insurance records, invitations, lists, memorandums, minutes, notes, pamphlets, photos, programs, receipts, reports, speeches, tax records, time sheets, typescripts, and writings. The papers also include a small amount of education and personal records. The addenda is organized into three series: 1) Personal papers 2)Organizations 3)Oversize Personal papers include records related to the personal lives of Homer and Ida Crotty, such as correspondence, book catalogs, birth certificates, death certificates, diaries, passports, photos, notebooks, speeches, travel ephemeral, and writings. This series is arranged alphabetically by genre. Organization records document the creators' participation in various clubs, charities, legal associations, and nonprofit organizations. This series is arranged alphabetically by organization name. Oversize items include architectural drawings, lecture notes, letter books (correspondence), photos, prints, and textbooks. This series is arranged by item size.

The collection consists of letters, documents, letter books, ledgers, account books, cash books, market books, picking crew records, time books, and orange ledgers; this material made up the business records of the Duarte-Monrovia Fruit Exchange. The records document the processing and marketing of citrus fruit in Southern California from 1892 until 1937.
