Report of Commissioners to the Secretary of the Interior

This is a photocopy of a report by the Southern Pacific Railroad Company Commissioners on the 5th Section of their railroad line, which covered Indio to the Colorado River (Indian Wells). The report is dated 1877 December 6 and addressed to Carl Schurz, Secretary of the Interior. After the report is a letter by Carl Schurz to President Rutherford B. Hayes, 1878 January 19, and the endorsement of Hayes, 1878 January 30.
